BZ Fund Management Aktiengesellschaft is founded as a fully owned subsidiary of BZ Bank, and its first equity fund, BZ Senior, is launched.

Martin and Rosmarie Ebner, Alfred Böni and Ralph Stadler purchase all the shares of BZ Bank from BZ Group Holding.
2003 January
The business unit BZ Aktienkonto is sold to AIG Private Bank.
2001 January
Martin Ebner steps down as CEO of BZ Bank.
1997 December
Domicile of BZ Bank is moved to Wilen bei Wollerau, canton of Schwyz. The name of the Bank is changed to BZ Bank Aktiengesellschaft.

BZ Group Holding Aktiengesellschaft is created. All outstanding shares of BZ Bank and BZ Informatik are purchased by BZ Group Holding.

Issue of the first covered warrants in Switzerland, on Ciba-Geigy shares.

Membership to the Zurich Stock Exchange is granted.
1985 July
BZ Informatik Aktiengesellschaft (today: Avaloq Evolution AG) is founded as a fully owned subsidiary of the Bank. The Bank receives the cantonal permit to act as a stock broker.

"BZ Bank Zürich Aktiengesellschaft" is founded in Zurich by Martin Ebner. "BZ" is used as an acronym for Bank of Zurich.
